600 North Lakeshore Drive, Chicago
Built on the last open section of lakefront in Chicago’s Downtown area, 600 North Lakeshore Drive is currently under construction. When complete, it will consist of the 40-story North Tower, and the 46-story South Tower, both offering well-appointed luxury condo residences and some of the best views in the city. The location is steps away from Navy Pier, with dozens of fine restaurants, cultural events, the landmark Ferris Wheel, and boarding docks for romantic harbor cruises. In addition, the fashionable boutiques, galleries, and businesses along North Michigan Avenue are within comfortable walking distance. Though in a well-developed area, 600 North Lakeshore Drive promises to be a stand-out, designed to take advantage of its coveted frontage on shores of Lake Michigan.
So far, developer Belgravia Group has broken ground only on 600 North Lakeshore Drive’s North Tower and is limiting the residences to six units per floor. These include a one bedroom/1.5 bath home of 1,037 square feet, two bedroom/2.5 baths of 1,373 square feet, and three bedrooms with 2.5 or 3.5 bathrooms in up to 2,545 square feet. The spacious units feature marble-tiled foyers, natural oak flooring with carpeting in bedrooms and hallways; kitchens with Brookhaven cabinetry, granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances; and bathrooms with marble tub/shower surrounds and marble-topped vanities. All master bedrooms provide walk-in closets, and some units also offer linen closets and separate dining rooms.
600 North Lakeshore Drive has an attractive porte cochere on Chicago’s most famous boulevard and an elegant, inviting lobby. Other amenities include a 24-hour doorman, heated indoor parking, a well-appointed fitness center, private storage spaces, and bike room. The building is cable-ready and provides individually-controlled heating and air conditioning. Atop the tower are private sundecks and a sculpture garden.
Despite all the comfort and convenience, however, at 600 North Lakeshore Drive, location is key. Seven-foot windows open to spectacular views of Lake Michigan, Lakeshore Drive, Navy Pier, and Grant Park – vistas which just can’t be had from anywhere else in the city.
