The 850-acre Desert Highlands community is located on the south slope of Pinnacle Peak in North Scottsdale, a perfect spot for desert country living with easy access to all the amenities of city life. The 575-homesite limit will help keep more than half of the site’s natural landscape as nature intended it. Desert Highlands offers a variety of home types that are anywhere from 2,600 to over 12,000 square feet at $700,000 to $3,995,000. Lots are offered at $315,000 to $779,000. The natural Sonoran Desert vegetation is complemented by more than 500 added Palo Verde and Ironwood trees and over 1,000 majestic Saguaro cacti. Wildlife abounds in Desert Highlands with visits from jackrabbits, javalinas, coyotes, and bobcats, and a variety of birds such as owls, roadrunners, hawks, and quail.

Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the par-72 golf course sits 1,000 feet above downtown Phoenix for cooler summer golfing temperatures. Each of the course’s 18 holes provides multiple tees and was designed to blend perfectly with the existing landscape. In fact, the site was designed based on guidelines from the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, and the club features the only 18-hole putting course on the Western side of the globe. Property ownership is a must for membership, which includes tennis (13 clay, grass, Nova Pro Bounce, and hard surface courts), guard services, and use of the 33,000-square-foot clubhouse.

Residents may also take advantage of the 7,000-square-foot Fitness Center with men’s and women’s locker rooms, steam rooms, a variety of workout machines, weight machines and free weights, and on-staff certified personal trainers. Other amenities include clinical nutrition assessments and a hiking club.
