Hudson Tower, Chicago

Hudson Tower is a brand-new residential high-rise in a brand new Chicago neighborhood. The area is Kingsbury Park, the redevelopment of a formerly industrial area on the very-near Northside, just across the Chicago River from the Loop financial and business district. Though the revitalization of the area is just beginning, Kingsbury Park promises to become one of the city’s most fashionable areas, particularly appealing to young urban professionals for its close proximity to the trendy shopping and entertainment along North State and Dearborn Streets.

Hudson Tower features classic urban architecture, with white concrete vertical supports rising from a red brick base, and with red brick trim accenting the full height of its 26 stories. Inside, residential units are available in a variety of floor plans, from one bedroom/one bath units to three bedrooms/3.5 baths. A mix of the traditional and modern is carried inside, with all residences offering a gas fireplace with a tile surround, as well as a  private balcony. The cozy ambience is further emphasized by oversize, painted trim and base moldings, hardwood floors, and track lighting. Residents can select the color of the carpeting in bedrooms and the color of the ceramic tile in bathrooms. Soaking tubs with cultured marble finish are part of the master bedroom suite. Units also come with roomy walk-in closets, and some have separate dining rooms. Kitchens are equipped with granite counter tops in a choice of colors, with optional Euro-style cabinetry.

Amenities at Hudson Tower include a 24-hour doorman, a fitness center with sundeck, conference and hospitality rooms, and an outdoor terrace that residents can reserve for in-home entertaining. The building is pre-wired for cable TV.

Chicago’s new Kingsbury area is located east of the Chicago River between Ohio Street and Chicago Avenue. A series of lofts and residential condos along with retail development is planned, with construction just beginning. The centerpiece of the area will be a riverfront park at Kingsbury and Erie Streets. Hudson Tower is one of the first buildings going up in the new neighborhood, and with base prices in the $222,000 to $585,000 range, the developer, Rezmar, has seen  brisk sales.
