Golf is one of the favorite activities in this beautiful community of Kings Mill in Williamsburg. King’s Mill is home to three championship courses designed by the likes of Pete Dye, Arnold Palmer, and Tom Clark. Pete Dye is the creator of the River course which has served as a popular PGA and LPGA Tour site for several years. The River course is Pete Dye’s most famous golf course design, known for its fairway bunkers and exciting challenges. It is a popular course for both residents and people throughout the state.
The second available course is known as the plantation course. This course is not as demanding as the River course and is more wide open in terms of space. Of course, there is still a large degree of challenge present. The plantation course is 6,543 yards in length and you’ll want to play close attention to your accuracy especially when dealing with the undulating greens. Rolling terrain and water hazards will come into play on at least eight of the 18 holes of this course.
The third available course is known as the wounds. This is Kings Mill’s newest addition. Despite being new it has already been honored by golf magazine as one of the top 10 courses available in a public setting. This course has it all from double greens with bunkers, tree-lined fairways, and plenty of rolling terrain.
The final course available in Kings Mill is the nine-hole, par 3 course known as Bray Links. This course is a complimentary course available for play for all of Kings Mill’s resort guests.

[…] As you already know we are looking to purchase a home and settle our roots here in Virginia. We’ve looked at a lot of different types of communities. There are a few golf homes communities around here. We didn’t have this type of community in the area we moved from up north. These are large communities with recreation built right into them in the form of a golf course, and often several parks with playgrounds and trails to walk on. Not too long ago we looked at a house in the Kingsmill on the James community. Kingsmill is only a few minutes away from where we live now in Newport News. Beautiful community with gorgeous green yards like you see on television and wonder how they did that. Unfortunately the large three, four, and even five bedroom homes in this community ended up being a little out of our price range, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting to live there. We even looked into renting or buying a condo as an alternative to buying a single family home in the community. It would keep up close to things we enjoy like going to Colonial Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens Europe. We haven’t ruled out the condo yet, but at this point with the boys we think it’s better to purchase a single family residence and not have any attached neighbors. […]
