Muirfield Village, Dublin, Ohio
Muirfield Village in the quiet, charming, suburban community of Dublin, Ohio, just north of Columbus, is nestled within 165 wooded acres. The community is divided into separate “neighborhoods,” each with its own personality. Muirfield welcomes families, singles, active senior citizens, and empty nesters. There are over 2400 lots within Muirfield Village, with real estate options ranging from condominiums to patio homes to single family detached homes. Prices start at around $350,000 and go up to well over $3 million.
The centerpiece of Muirfield is the 18-hole, 7224-yard, par-72, championship course, designed by Jack Nicklaus and home to his annual Muirfield Memorial Golf Championship. Completed in 1976 after years of planning and construction, Muirfield is the original Jack Nicklaus course, and it’s a beauty. Known for its long iron play, the shots to the green here are as difficult as on any course in the country. In fact, it was recently ranked number 16 on Golf Digest’s top 100 golf courses.
In addition to golf, residents of Muirfield Village enjoy tennis courts, two swimming pools, and 250 acres of parkland, including miles of manicured trails for hiking, biking, and exploring the area. There are twelve lakes owned by the residents’ association and they are stocked with catfish and large-mouth bass. Residents can fish in these lakes without an Ohio fishing license.
In addition to the golf tournament, Dublin is home to one of the nation’s largest Irish festivals as well as the Columbus Zoo and aquarium. Downtown Dublin is a charming town with Irish pubs, cobblestone streets, and quaint boutiques. Located just twenty minutes north of Columbus, Muirfield is near all the sports, education, dining, and cultural options that city has to offer.
