Old Island, Kingsport, Tennessee
Old Island is a public Golf Course and Golf Community in Kingsport, Tennessee. It sits on 700 acres of hills and hardwoods near Bristol, Tennessee. It was opened in 1999.
Old Island was designed by Ault, Clark & Associates. It has 18 holes of championship golf. There is also a practice area with tees, greens and bunkers. A driving range is also onsite for practice.
The Clubhouse has a Pro Shop, with a Golf Pro available for lessons and consultation by appointment. There is a swimming pool and tennis courts for people who need a break from golf. A lounge and a restaurant are within the clubhouse, and offer food and drink for lunch and dinner. Banquet facilities are available for private parties and weddings.
Condos are being built in the Old Island Community. Prices begin at $200,000 and go to $500,000 depending on the model chosen. Amenities vary from modern to deluxe, depending on personal taste and style.
Kingsport offers dining and shopping for every taste and budget. Fine, formal and family restaurants are a close drive from Avalon. Bristol is nearby and offers an International Speedway, malls and cultural events of big city living.

Um, check your info….Old Island is a nice course, but no swimming pool, no tennis courts,no condos…the course has been sold several times and had financial troubles, so real estate sales have been slow. They are finally building some single family homes. No lounge or restaurant in the clubhouse…they don’t even offer hot dogs. Course is in very good shape, and all carts have GPS.
