Sun City, Texas
The Del Webb Corporation was a pioneer in developing planned communities aimed at adults 55 and older. Sun City in Georgetown, Texas is one of his best efforts. Located just 30 miles north of Austin, Sun City was named an “American Top 100 Master Planned Community” by Where to Retire Magazine. Sun City Texas caters to active residents with a wide variety of activities and a spacious park-like setting. Buyers can choose from fifteen models, ranging from 1383 to 2836 square feet. Home prices begin at just $123,900.
One of the most popular features of Sun City Texas is golf. Two eighteen-hole, championship courses, each with its own practice range, putting green, and clubhouse, challenge golfers of all skill levels. Nestled among gracious trees and fields of wildflowers, these courses offer scenic vistas, long narrow fairways, and fast greens.
Golf isn’t the only thing to do at Sun City Texas. From gardening to painting, from tennis to fishing, the community has something to interest everyone. Amenities include Lake Georgetown, perfect for fishing, swimming, and other fresh water pursuits, community garden plots, jogging and walking trails, tennis and bocce courts, an open-air pavilion with barbecue and picnic facilities, and a huge, 16,000-square foot recreation center, complete with a state-of-the-art fitness center, spa, and indoor lap pool.
The surrounding city of Georgetown offers a myriad of artistic, recreational, and health care options. Southwestern University brings a diverse cultural climate to the area as well as a senior university program that offers classes to older adults at a fraction of the cost. The school’s Performing Arts and Palace Theatres host a regular schedule of varied events. Interested in Sun City Texas? We would be interested in a tour of Sun City. No need to stay overnight; we’re in San Antonio. Looking for a place to live where we don’t have to do lawns and constantly fix things!
