The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek, Charleston
Winner of the 2003 Best New Private Course in the US, this Rees Jones course is situated on The Johns Island taking full advantage of all that the coast Carolina Low country has to offer. Incorporating the natural beauty of proud oaks and pines, rivers, creeks and saltwater estuaries, this course rivals the beauty of nature untouched.
Limited to 300 memberships, the course is certified as a participant in the Audubon International Signature Program, the first in South Carolina to achieve this signatory award. Along with this signature program, the master development plans include less than 100 available home sites from 1 to 7 acres in size. Privacy and peace are the distinctive marketing keys to Briar’s Creek 914 acre high-end community.
Since nature and preservation are the key design elements in the community, great efforts have been extended to develop around the unspoiled marshlands by keeping most home sites and roads away from the course and the naturally occurring “hazards”. A single row of golf cottages and a number of estates well represent the vision of the community at Briar’s Creek – preservation. Residents can expect to encounter great blue herons, white ibis, osprey eagles, owls, woodpeckers, occasional bald eagles and the endangered species – woodstorks.
