Whisper Rock
Whisper Rock is 800 acres of luxury living, Sonoran Desert style, in beautiful North Scottsdale. The 190 home sites range from 1 to 5 acres and $585,000 to $1,550,000. A variety of unique, spacious, and superbly designed custom homes are available in the guard-gated community for between $2 and $5 million. The low-density neighborhood heightens the relaxed, living-in-the-country atmosphere of Whisper Rock.
Membership is capped at 575 for each of the two 18-hole courses and is based on sponsorship and invitation, not property ownership. The non-equity club is owner-managed and designed to offer golfers the ultimate golf experience. They must be doing something right, as at least twenty members are practicing golf pros. Amenities also include a fitness center with swimming and tennis facilities.
The first golf course was designed by PGA pro Phil Mickelson and architect Gary Stephenson and features the verdant natural washes and fascinating vegetation of the Sonoran Desert. It’s known as a challenging par-72 course that plays at 7,400 yards from the back tees. Tom Fazio is overseeing the creation of a second 18-hole golf course, the site for which was described by Links magazine as among the most dramatic terrain in Scottsdale, rising and falling among “incredible rock formations and granite spires, with stunning vistas of the surrounding Sonoran Desert.” Tom Fazio has designed dozens of award-winning courses, and has appeared more times on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses and Golfweek’s collection of America’s Best than any other golf architect. Both golf courses will be known for their 60-foot-wide fairways, immaculate upkeep, and intimate use of the natural terrain.
